Internal call for applications to the NERC Standard Grants Scheme – July 2015



The internal call for applications to the NERC Standard Grants Scheme – July 2015 is now open. 

Proposals for the July 2015 round should be submitted for internal review to rpo@St-andrews.ac.uk no later than 5pm, 1st June 2015.    


Submissions will be assessed on their scientific excellence. An internal review panel will meet annually in June and December to grade the applications and select the proposal/s that will be submitted to NERC. 


Your submission for internal review should include: 



  • Case for Support - Incorporating the Previous Track Record (up to 2 sides A4) and Description of Proposed Research (up to 8 sides A4)
  • Justification of Resources - up to 2 sides A4 for all Research Organisations in the proposed grant, including justification for items of equipment between £10,000 and the OJEU threshold.
  • CVs for all Principal and Co-Investigators named in the proposal (up to 2 sides A4 for each CV).
The Standard grant scheme also includes a route for New Investigators.  Eligibility for the New Investigator call is restricted (see the research grants and fellowships handbook for further details), but beyond that the rules for the two calls are the same.

Timescale:

  1. Internal deadline: Completed case for support, justification of resources and  C.V.s should be submitted to rpo@st-andrews.ac.uk no later than 5pm on 1st June 2015.
  2. Internal Selection Panel meet to review proposals early June 2015
  3. Successful nomination/s informed early-mid June 2015
  4. Final Deadline for submitting proposal to NERC is 4pm, 21st July 2015
