AHRC/POST postgraduate fellowships initiative

The Arts and Humanities Research Council, in association with the Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology (POST), is inviting applications for its postgraduate fellowships initiative. This enables AHRC-funded postgraduate students to spend time at POST, working on a policy topic which is grounded in science and technology, but which has an emphasis on an arts and humanities discipline. POST’s current areas of work include social science, biological science and health, energy, environment, physical sciences and ICT.

Who is eligible to apply?
Any AHRC funded PhD students who will be entering their 2nd or 3rd year on 1st October 2014 (or 3rd, 4th or 5th year if part time).

During their time in parliament, fellows are expected to produce a POSTnote, contribute to a longer report, assist in a select committee or carry out related activities such as seminars or podcasts. The successful applicant will receive a three month extension to their PhD funding, and will receive all necessary working facilities to complete the project.

The Placement
The fellowship will take place over a three month period, with a likely starting date between September 2014 and May 2015.
