NERC Demand Managed Standard Grants - Internal Review - Case for Support- 12th Nov 2015

Internal Review Stage 2, the draft case for support, for applications to the NERC Standard Grants Scheme – January 2016 is now open 

 Proposals for the January 2016 round should be submitted for internal review to rpo@St-andrews.ac.uk no later than 5pm, 12^th November 2015.    

Submissions will be assessed on their scientific excellence. An internal review panel will meet annually in June and December to grade the applications and select the proposal/s that will be submitted to NERC. Your submission for internal review should include: 

• Draft case for support - Description of proposed research (a minimum of 4 sides A4  to a maximum of 8 sides of A4)

The Standard grant scheme also includes a route for New Investigators.  Eligibility for the New Investigator call is restricted (see the research grants and fellowships handbook for further details), but beyond that the rules for the two calls are the same. 

Please note:  For final submission to NERC, Principal Investigators should ensure that all proposal contributors are aware of and meet the submission regulations set out in the NERC handbook e.g. attachments should be of the correct length, font size etc.  Please see paragraph 171. of the NERC grants handbook for detailed regulations. Proposals not adhering to the rules will be automatically rejected and will not be returned to applicants for corrections. 

NERCs Demand Management Policy:

1)	Internal deadline: Completed “Intention to Submit”  form to rpo@st-andrews.ac.uk	5pm, 19th October 2015
2)	Internal deadline: draft case for support (max 8  sides of A4) should be submitted to rpo@st-andrews.ac.uk	5pm, 12th November 2015
3)	Internal Selection Panel meet to review proposals	mid November 2015
4)	Successful nomination/s informed	late November 2015
5)	Final Deadline for submitting proposal to NERC	4pm, 19th January 2016
