Carnegie Trust for Scotland’s Small Research Grant Scheme - closing 15th May

The Carnegie Trust for Scotland’s Small Research Grant Scheme will be closing with all Applications to be received by 15th May 2014. Providing up to £2500 the Small grants Scheme has been very popular with academics at all stages in their research career to provide funding for small, pilot type personal research projects.

Those thinking about applying for a Small Grant are encouraged to do so before the deadline of 15th May 2014.  More details on the Small Grants Scheme can be found at: http://www.carnegie-trust.org/schemes/research-schemes/small-research-grants/

This scheme is being replaced by a new **Research Incentives Scheme** aimed at Early Career Researchers. Special preference will be given to those up to 5 years of starting their independent academic career. Carnegie Research Incentive Grants aim to support short research projects, either of a stand-alone nature or in the form of an initial study that could be expected to lead to a more extensive project. The principal criterion for the award of a Carnegie Research Incentive Grant is that the planned research is of excellent quality and likely to be of benefit to one or more of the universities of Scotland.
The maximum ward value is £7,500 and the minimum £500.
The first submission deadline is 15th September 2014. The new application form will be available from 1st June 2014 and online submission will open on 1st July 2014.
