The first campaign of AXA PhD funding for 2012 has opened. The domains of research are Environmental risks, Life risks and Socio-Economic risks. Please see http://www.axa-research.org/sites/dev/files/areas_of_research_eligible_for_funding_in_detail.pdf for further details on eligible areas.
Please note there is a limit of two applications for St Andrews. Prof Hawkesworth will review outline proposals and will select two application candidates on behalf of St Andrews based on the following selection criteria:
- Academic excellence of the candidate and the advisor
- Innovative nature and originality of the project
- International reach/International scope of the host laboratory
- Feasibility of the project (management, organization, budget)
Please send an outline proposals to include the following to rpo@st-andrews.ac.uk marked for the attention of the Deputy Principal by the 24th February 2012:
- PhD Candidate CV
- A reference letter (preferably by the applicant’s Master’s thesis advisor if applicable)
- Outline Project Proposal
