The Durham IAS Fellowship Scheme, open to the most creative and accomplished scholars from science, social science, arts and humanities, aims to address the Institute's annual theme of global significance. Up to 20 fellowships are available for three-month periods (either October-December 2012 or January-March 2013). Recipients can receive up to £8,000 towards travel allowance, accommodation and money to buy them out of teaching, if this is necessary.During their stay, fellows, in addition to pursuing their research, are required to engage with each other and with Durham staff, deliver a public lecture and an IAS seminar, and work on an IAS web-based publication of ca. 5,000 words. The Institute's 2012-13 theme, 'Time', has significant interdisciplinary possibilities. Applications for the 2012-13 fellowships are welcome from 26 April 2011 until the closing date of 12 June 2011.
